Longest Expeditions Route
Lemosho Route is far more rounded approach to Kibo, it is slightly longer and begins much lower down the mountain than the Shira Route. This enables you to enjoy the forest sections on foot and to ascend gradually, acclimatizing all the while and improving your chances to reach Uhuru Peak. The Route merges with the Shira Route and tracks towards Kibo, in turn intersecting with the Machame Route and then the South Circuit Path. The Summit bid can be made via the Western Breach or the Barafu Route, whilst the decent is traditionally along the Mweka Route. The possible complete climb can stretch to eight days but it varies considerably.
