Life is spectacular in the dry season, when the migratory ungulates come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Tarangire is one of the most astonishing strongholds for wildlife on the African continent. The park’s environment is dominated by savanna woodlands, wetlands and seasonal flood plains and boasts a birdlife of exceptional species diversity.


Itinerary

- Your day tour begins with your hotel pickup in the morning, and heading south to stunning Tarangire National Park. Arrive at the Tarangire National Park for game viewing. In the afternoon you will stop for a picnic lunch. Your afternoon game-drive will reveal all the wonders of Tarangire, a National Park often referred to as the ‘Elephant Playground’. Herds of up to 300 of these mighty mammals are sometimes seen in the park.
- The Tarangire National Park has the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania and you can view these animals all year round in which the herds often can reach an impressive number of 300 animals. If you visit the park during the dry season, you will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles with a little luck, you can also spot a python!
- This area is during the dry season also a heaven for bird watchers with over 550 different species including the Maasai Ostrich -the world largest bird. Around lunchtime, you will stop at a suitable picnic place before the afternoon is dedicated to more wildlife watching. Before sunset, you will be taken back to your hotel with an option for Maasai boma as this you can plan with your driver.
